Things I just can't live without!!

With summer comes a lot of sweat ... for real right?!?!  I have to change my products come summer to make sure I am not a shiny ball of sweat all the time and these products have been my best finds so far!!  Lets start with this Garnier Skin Renew BB Cream!!  I was put on to this from some of my girlfriends and am I ever happy I went out and bought it.

First off, let me tell you how much this stuff has changed me life!!!  It is really light and a little goes a long way!!  I use it everyday as my one and only thing I use on my face (other than my moisterizer of course).  This stuff evens out my spotted face ( from too much sun without sunscreen in the past!!), it has SPF 20 and helps balance my super oily skin.  You can get this stuff at Walmart or Target or Ulta but I find the best price to be at Walmart!  At 11.97 it is a bit more then the other BB Cream I used (Covergirl) to use but it is worth every penny!!  I use the medium/deep and find it blends in perfectly with my skin color.

Next is something I have been using for a while now and I am not sure if I have shared it with you all or not so here it is .... Make Up For Ever HD High Definition Powder!!!! If there is anything that I just can't live without, it is this stuff!!!

Now, the BB cream works wonders but combined with this stuff you are guaranteed to have long lasting makeup that will not move an inch!!  I purchase this product from Sephora at a cost of 34 dollars.  It has been the best 34 dollars I have ever spent.  It just locks everything in and if you have super oily skin like I do it eliminates all that shine!!  I can't even tell you how long I have had this container for ... this stuff last forever and a little goes a long way!!
I think they even sell it in a travel size that would be less .... good way to go if you are just wanting to give it a try without the sticker price commitment!

Alright, the last one is a good one.  I am the type of girl that  puts lotion on every single day when I get out of the shower ... it's probably just a habit by now.  The problem is when summer comes the lotion that I love the most is way to heavy and I just sweat it all out instantly!!  In comes Vaseline Spray & Go mositurizer!!

To be honest I am not sure if I will ever go back to my good ol standard lotion.  This stuff is perfect for summer .... you spray it on and give it a lit rub in and you are off!! Seriously .... no dry time sitting in front of the fan waiting for it all to soak in ( I know you all have done this!!), you spray, rub it in and off you go!!!  Smells great, and at 5.94 (from Walmart) for the bottle you just can't go wrong!!

What are some of your "can't live without" products??? I would love to know!!

Off to the races

My Mom has been in town since last Wednesday and life has been jam packed.  On Thursday we decided to hit up the Del Mar Horse Races.  It was a blast (even though I didn't win a single race)!!  We got really lucky with parking on arrival and and the lines were so minimal you would almost think we were the only ones there.  The day before was opening day so maybe that had something to do with it.  One thing I will let you all know is that if you plan on eating or drinking while at the races I would highly suggest going on a Wednesday due simply to the fact that a beer and a hotdog (you know we all eat one when at the races) is half the price, and with a beer being 8.50 each it is sure worth it to go on a Wednesday!

We got our programs and we are ready to go!

Last weekend we were so lucky because this is where our event took place ... could you even imagine having you Bar Mitzvah at a location like this?!?!?  This my friends is La Jolla, well at least a part of it.  If you have ever been to the San Diego area then I am sure you have visited La Jolla ... it is beautiful.  The beaches are stunning and the main area has a ton of shopping and a bunch of great restaurants with amazing views of the ocean.  Two of my favorite restaurants in La Jolla are Georges on the Cove and Herringbone, if you are ever in the area make sure to try them out, you will not be disappointed!!

It has been quite some time since I have done a outfit post ... I honestly almost forgot how.  I did, however, remember how much I love doing it!  Life over here is Southern California has been great .... summer is in full swing .... we have a bunch of guests coming into town this week, which means a lot of fun and being a tourist in our own town!!  Hope you all have been enjoying your summer and I am so happy to be back!!

Let's Talk About Travel

There is one question that I get over and over again about our travels and that is, where do we stay and how do we figure it all out.

O.K., let's start with figuring out where you want to go first.  Let's take our trip to Spain and France for example.  The very first thing you have to do is plan your dates and book that darn ticket!!! After that everything starts falling into place.  We pick three places to go in Spain and five in France.  After that is was time to plan where to stay in each town.

I find the best thing to do is to start searching the popular areas of that town and see what suits you best.  Now don't get me wrong, this can be a hard thing to do since you have never been there and it is all via recommendations of mainly people you don't know.  I always search blogs as well for recommendations and put a post up on my Facebook, you never know the things you can find out from a friend.  Now there has been times where we got it wrong and when we arrived found out that the area we were staying in was not really what we wanted but we make the best of it and carry on.

For our last trip we decided to stay in apartments due to the fact that a hotel in Spain and France were proving to be really really expensive!!  We usually budget 100 per night for a hotel and I was finding it really hard to find hotels that seemed semi decent for that amount.  We definitely don't need no 5 star ( though it would be nice, hehe) but a 3 or 4 star seem to work the best for us.  In come Airbnb, now if you have never heard of this website I highly suggest you check it out.  Airbnb saved us a ton of money over our last trip and it was a excellent way to book different apartments for our stay in Spain and France, we used it for every place except for one which we decided to stay in a hotel in Dijon.

The website is super easy to use and navigate. You just pick where you want to go and then all the places for rent pop up for you to look through.  You can even narrow down your search to exactly what you want so you don't have to look through it all.  Unlike some apartment rental websites you don't need to book for at least a week  ... it can be one day or one week, it just doesn't matter.  Every apartment that we booked through Airbnb was a great experience.  Not only were the people that we rented them from really nice and easy to work with but we even made some friends along the way.  The website is really well ran and easy to use and the communication with the owners of the apartments you rent from seem to enjoy the website too and it works super efficiently for all!

The nice thing about renting a apartment while traveling is you feel a little more at home.  There is usually everything you could imagine in the apartment for you to use.  The one major thing we liked about it is that we got to cook breakfast in each morning and not only does this save time but it also saves a lot of money while traveling!  Here are some of the photos of the different places we stayed during our trip.  We found the pictures that they use on the website to be very real to what is actually is.  Next time you are going traveling, give Airbnb a try, I think you will be pleasantly surprised!!

This is our spot in Avignon, France ... it was the largest of all the places we stayed!

This was our apartment in Nice, France ... definitely the smallest (Nice was the very expensive) but still really cute and a perfect location!  Below is our place in Strasbourg, France.

I'm Back!!

Eiffel Tower

Ok, I know I have been gone forever ( I can't even remember the last time I blogged!)!!  But here is the thing, I started to not like blogging and the only thing I could think to do at that time was just quit ... silly right?!?!  I started my blog on a whim and at first was full of all sorts of ideas and was so super excited .... and then the reality kicked in  .... this is a ton of work that I just didn't expect.  When I started the blog I really wanted to be a blogger who blogged 5 days a week and was reliable, at least that's what I thought was reliable (crazy right?!?!).  So I did, and I found myself shopping .... A LOT!!  I was really bad with trying to use what I already had in my closet and mix it up and was always looking for something better .... not good!  Another thing that I found happening was a lot of damage to my hair, now I know that sounds silly but let me explain.  So 5 or 6 days a week I was getting ready and doing my hair (by doing my hair I mean curly it mainly), and the reality of that is that in "real" life I was not "getting dolled up" 5 or 6 days a week!!  Another silly thing that I took upon my self for no real reason ... we are supposed to be real around here right?!?!  Things were just getting out of hand for me so I stopped.

But now here is the honest truth .... I really really miss blogging!!!  I still read all of yours on a daily basis and just don't comment cause I think I thought if I just never comment on anyone's maybe they will never notice I was gone.  So without boring you all I am here to say that I am back ... but in a different way!  I love the fashion blog world and the way it has changed my life in so many good ways ( even though I only talked about the bad here ... sorry) and I just love the blogging community all together.  So I am going to give this another go ... but in just a more relaxed kinda way.  Maybe there with be a post 5 days a week or maybe there won't but I am alright with that.  I am guessing that if you guys want to be here you will and if you don't then that is ok too!

On another note, Zack (my hubby) and I have just returned from a month long trip in Spain and France and it was life changing!!  You can expect to see much more about travel and food around here ( since these are two of my main passions) and maybe some outfit posts too ... who knows!!
I am just happy to be back and I missed all of you so please let me know what you think!!
